Even from the outside, I can tell that they have gone quite a transformation on the in & exterior. Compared to the old MOS Burger, which is quite simple and screams fast food, the new MOS Cafe def. brings warmth yet stylish vibe. In this case I can say it's a success looking at the number of customers they managed to brought in.
We chose a seat in the corner, eventhough it was a smoking area, I wanted to try the U-shaped couch =p Oh, did I tell you that every seat has their own electrical socket? :)
Heading to the menu...
With the change of concept from fast food to cafe, of course they also added the cafe menu without removing the fast food menu.
I chose the hot chocolate (IDR 22K).
This is where my review will get harsh.
I also ordered one dessert set (IDR 39K), waffles with iced tea. My husband wanted the choco banana waffle, which on the menu, has banana topping on it. But when it came, the only topping on the waffles were a few cuts of strawberries and choco sauce. We complaint to the waitress while pointing to the menu, "where's the banana?". She brought our order back and topped off with a few cuts of banana. I mean why wouldn't you notice from the beginning when the menu says choco banana waffle?
The next is the number of the waffles, on the menu it was two waffles while they only brought one waffle (the waitress said that they will add another waffle after the first one is finished, what the?).
Still about the waffles, it wasn't warm at all, and it's damn tough! I picture of a perfect soft, fluffy waffles and this one was far. The sauce in the bowl tasted strange like peanut butter but sour, I never tasted anything quite like it. In result I only ate a bite! (my husband who was hungry, ate the rest, but he agreed it the waffles were hard to chew).
Even after we came home from MOS Cafe, I found out that we paid for a waffle and an iced tea (IDR 35K + IDR 14K), and not the Dessert set (which were cheaper). WTFFFF!!!
So, as you've guessed reading my last paragraph, I would not come again to MOS Cafe as we've been disappointed many times. At first we were really happy to see the No.1 burger joint in Japan in Indonesia, but I guess they need more training and communication to be the same with the original country. I would though, have takeouts and eat the yummy rice burger, at home that is.
